Job Summary
37 North Expeditions is seeking a part-time or full-time Adventure Concierge & Guide to join our Bentonville team. This role is first and foremost a 37 North Expeditions position, with the Adventure Concierge & Guide primarily based at The Compton Hotel, where they oversee the adventure desk and serve as the first point of contact for guests seeking curated outdoor experiences. In addition, this role actively guides 37 North trips and adventures throughout Northwest Arkansas and beyond.
The ideal candidate is passionate about connecting people to the outdoors while providing exceptional customer service in both luxury-hospitality and backcountry settings. They should be equally comfortable designing a guest’s adventure itinerary at the hotel as they are leading mountain bike rides, paddling trips, or hiking experiences in the field. This role requires primary experience in bike guiding, with extensive knowledge of the Northwest Arkansas biking community, local trails, and the broader outdoor industry.
Core Responsibilities
Provide trail and route recommendations, insider knowledge, and personalized cycling itineraries for hotel guests.
Serve as the on-site adventure concierge for hotel guests, providing trip planning support, booking guided experiences, rentals, and partner adventures.
Assist with the design of custom cycling and multi-sport adventure packages for hotel guests and corporate groups.
Lead guided greenway, gravel, and mountain bike rides for individuals and groups, tailoring experiences to guests’ ability, interests, and safety.
Maintain and prepare guiding equipment, including bikes, helmets, and support gear.
Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for the Northwest Arkansas cycling community, including local trails, events, and industry partners.
Model and uphold the highest standards of guest service, safety, and professionalism.
Collaborate with local partners and outfitters to expand the hotel’s cycling and adventure offerings.
Supervise and oversee adventure desk operations, ensuring seamless communication with hotel staff.
Provide world-class hospitality while representing 37 North and its adventure offerings.
Outside Hotel Concierge role
Guide outdoor adventure activities for clients of all ages and skill levels, including biking (gravel, mountain, and greenway), hiking, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding.
Teach skills, provide leadership, and ensure client safety during guided experiences.
Participate in professional development, ongoing training, and support of broader 37 North programming.
Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain equipment as needed
Collaborate with the internal team to coordinate logistics, ensuring seamless communication and efficient resource allocation.
Drive a 12-15 passenger van and pull an equipment trailer with Class P endorsement.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a bike guide, cycling coach, or extensive knowledge of mountain, gravel, and biking in Northwest Arkansas.
Strong knowledge of local cycling trails, infrastructure, and community culture.
Ability to adapt trips to varying group sizes, abilities, and conditions.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in both hospitality and wilderness settings.
Ability to balance concierge responsibilities with guiding responsibilities.
Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and sound judgment in dynamic environments.
Independent worker who is highly collaborative within a small team.
Physically able to participate in outdoor activities for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
Mechanical skills for basic bike maintenance and on-trail repairs.
Experience leading outdoor trips beyond cycling (e.g., hiking, paddling, running).
Connections within the local biking and outdoor adventure community.
Previous experience in hospitality, guest services, or concierge roles.
Current CPR and Wilderness First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced adventure guide to assist and lead groups on exciting outdoor activities including hiking, biking (gravel, MTB, and greenway) kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding. The ideal candidate should have a passion for the outdoors, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for our clients.
Note: This job is seasonal (est. Apr-Oct).. Guides must be available to work weekends. Weekdays worked are negotiable with weekend availability.

Assist in maintenance and upkeep of equipment used during activities

Actively participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge
Drive a 12-15 passenger van and sometimes pull an equipment trailer
Assist with customer service and rental shifts when events aren’t booked
